Get involved!

There are lots of ways to volunteer with the Southwest Virginia 4-H Educational Center! We are so grateful for the time, talent, and skills that members of the community donate toward fulfilling our mission to empower youth and adults. Here are some of the ways you could volunteer:

  • Instructors: Are you are interested in volunteering to teach or help with a class or workshop? Topics in demand include outdoor/wilderness education, STEM, multi-media arts and crafts, creative writing, improve and theater, and health/fitness - to name a few! Volunteer instructors are especially needed during our summer camping season, but also throughout the year.

  • Board of Directors: Are you familiar with and passionate about our mission and impact? Are you ready to commit to a meaningful volunteer project? We are currently recruiting new members to our Board of Directors. Special skills that we need represented include networking, fundraising, public relations, accounting, human resources, and strategic planning.

  • Workers: We always need individuals, families, youth groups, or businesses that are willing to come help paint, clean-up, trim bushes, mulch, or many other activities for all ages.

If you’re ready to get involved, please contact the 4-H Center by emailing info@swva4hcenter.org or calling (276) 676-6180.
