In 2022, we served 68% more youth through summer camp programs!

In 2022, we served 959 youth over 8 weeks this summer! That's a 68% increase in participation over last year!

We also distributed MORE scholarship funds this year: $8,869 from a National 4-H Council grant and $7,000 from our scholarship endowments!

In addition to direct recipients of scholarship funds, we keep the cost of camp LOW at only $195* per camper for a five-day experience in 2022, thanks to support from the National 4-H Council, Virginia Tech, local businesses and municipalities, income from program fees and facility rentals, and GENEROUS DONORS LIKE YOU who MAKE A DIFFERENCE in our ability to connect Appalachian youth with opportunities to grow and develop critical life skills, since 1960! THANK YOU!

* The SWVA 4-H Center provides the most affordable Junior 4-H Camp experience among the state's six independent 4-H Centers; and according to the American Camp Association, "resident camp tuition averages can be $630 per week up to $2,000 per week" across the country (2018).

If you would like to support our ability to provide affordable and accessible summer camp to youth from Bland, Buchanan, Carroll, Dickenson, Grayson, Lee, Russell, Smyth, Scott, Tazewell, Washington, Wise, and Wythe Counties: Donate today!
